We have been interested in battle history and tactics for years. We visited hundreds of battlegrounds, museums, and memorials. This focus is perfectly complemented by motorcycle tourism, together ensuring a great way to learn history. We offer the first and truly unique programme of motorcycle trips following the traces of history.
World War 1 turned the political and economic system of sever centuries upside down, blown away monarchies, moved borders, and changed the world order forever.
During this trip, we will tell you about the most important battles and events on the western front, filling you with intense stories – about the first appearance of tanks on the battlegrounds, the first attack with chemical weapons, attempts at applying outdated battle tactics inadequate to modern warfare, infantry in brightly coloured uniforms storming machine gun nests…
We will visit Verdun – symbol of the heroic defence by the French, and Flanders – where we will be looking for traces of original military technology of the time. We will go to the battleground of the bloodiest Somme offensive and to the chilling cemeteries of the fallen in the battle of Passchendaele (a.k.a. the Third Battle of Ypres), where we will tell you about the pointlessness of these fights. We will also visit Cambrai, where tanks were first used en masse. You will see a great crater – the remains of the greatest conventional explosion in the history of mankind – as well as the place where the famous Red Baron was shot down. You will see amazing interactive museums – in Corbie, devoted to the Australians, and the war museum in Brussels. In many places, we will be able to enter original trenches and see the incredible artifacts in the surrounding gardens or cafés, where the memories of these events are cared for by the local communities. And, to have the strength and stamina for all this history, we will also experience tasty attractions like chips with mayo in Bruges, or hot chocolate in Ghent. We guarantee you won’t forget this trip!
