This region is abundant in famous roads, like Route des Grandes Alpes or Grand Tour of Switzerland, which connect ten-odd passes. We also know passes that witnessed great history – they “saw” Hannibal’s or Napoleon’s forces marching. We are history buffs, and we love sharing our knowledge.
This region can be treated as a destination of a trip or a multistage transit stop on the way to Corsica, southern Italy, or Sicily – or to the Pyrenees, central Spain, and Andalusia. We try to avoid main roads, so, whenever we are going west or south, the Alps and the Dolomites are always somehow on the way.
