BREAKUP OF YUGOSLAVIA – THE YUGOSLAV WARS
The Balkans are a melting pot of cultures and religions, as well as the place trampled by various armies striving to dominate the region for centuries. During the trip, we focus on modern history, but we also want you to see its genesis – in our tales, we go back as far as the time of the Ottoman Empire.

We have been interested in battle history and tactics for years. We visited hundreds of battlegrounds, museums, and memorials. This focus is perfectly complemented by motorcycle tourism, together ensuring a great way to learn history. We offer the first and truly unique programme of motorcycle trips following the traces of history.
The trip starts in Vukovar, where a small local Croatian community stood their ground against the whole Yugoslavian People’s Army (the army was really Serbian). The next stop is Srebrenica – an enclave which was supposed to be the safe haven protected by the UN, and which became a place of ethnic cleanses and war crimes. After that, we ride to Sarajevo – the true cultural melting pot – we spent the most time there. We will tell you the city’s history, and show you the Serbian position on the Trebević mountain, from where the infamous “Sniper Alley” was shot at, and which several years earlier hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics. A local guide will take you to the most important places. We will see the famous Sarajevo Roses – symbol of the greatest tragedies during the siege – and the Tunnel of Salvation, also called the Tunnel of Hope, the only link with the outside world. We will also visit the museum devoted to these events. Being there, we will also show you the place, in which Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated directly resulting in the outbreak of World War 1. Then, we ride for Mostar known for its historical old town and the bridge dividing it – the symbol of conflict between the Bosnians and the Croats. The trip ends in Dalmatia, where we will tell you about the Croatian “Oluja” offensive. After intensive sightseeing, we rest in the apartments provided by our friends in picturesque Vodice.
